Thieves have stolen a postal van parked outside a house in Derry’s Waterside.

The red postal van was parked outside a house in Pelham Road when it was stolen on November 7.

A PSNI spokesman said two youths made off in the vehicle and were last seen driving towards the border. It was later found burned out in the Ballymagroarty area of the city.

“It is reported that at approximately 2.30pm, two youths made off in the vehicle which had been parked in the area for a short period of time,” the spokesman said.

“The van was seen travelling in the direction of the border along the Culmore Road a short time later and again in the Whitehouse Road area just before 6pm.

“The van was later found on fire, at approximately 1.10am on the morning of Saturday 10 November, in the Dunluce Court area. “
