Thieves target Derry hospital

Thieves have stolen almost £20,000 worth of lead from Gransha Hospital site, police have confirmed.

An appeal for information has now gone out from detectives at Strand Road in Derry are appealing for information about two thefts over the past week.

It has now been confirmed that lead to the value of £18,000 was stolen.

The PSNI’s investigating officer said the amount of lead stolen would have necessitated the use of a vehicle.

She said she was keen to hear form anyone who saw suspicious activity or unusual vehicles at the old site between Tuesday and Friday.
