A 34-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of her partner.
Anne Marie Doherty, whose address was given on court papers as Upper Violet Street, Waterside, is further charged with possessing a knife with intent to commit an indictable offence, namely murder.
The charges relate to an alleged incident in the Waterside area of the city on June 30.
An investigating officer, from the Domestic Violence Unit, told Derry Magistrate’s Court she believed she could connect Doherty to the charges.
The 34-year-old was released on agreed bail conditions.
These include a condition that Doherty reside in a Women’s Aid shelter in Co. Tyrone, a ban on contacting the alleged injured party, consuming alcohol and entering the Waterside.
She must also report any contact from the alleged injured party to police.
Doherty will appear in court again on July 30.
