Woman stole £8,000 from employer


A 36-year-old woman has admitted stealing more than £8,000 worth of clothes and cash from her employer.

Kerena Hunter, of Clareen Drive, Strathfoyle, pleaded guilty to one charge of theft by an employee.

The charge relates to the theft of £8,440 worth of clothes, cash and other items from TK Maxx.

The offence was committed between January 2009 and November 2014.

Defence solicitor Eugene Burns said there was a background to this incident and applied for a probation report.

Sentencing was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.

Hunter will appear in court again on January 15.
