A full programme of music and entertainment comes to Culdaff this weekend when the county fleadh is held for the first time. The local committee have been very busy organising things for the weekend and there are brochures in all the local outlets. It commences tonight and culminates with a marching bands competition on Sunday in Caratra Park. All support over the weekend most welcome.
The Cancer Support & Social Group monthly meeting will be held on Monday next in the Milltown House, Carndonagh from 7.30pm-9.30pm. We welcome males/females who have had a cancer diagnosis, family members, carers or friends of someone affected by cancer. Eight tables participated in the Bocan Scout group quiz which raised 472 euro (including donations) last week. Winners were Norah McGrenaghan’s Dream Team by two points from Gerard Davenports Backs to the Wall team. Bar questions were answered by Michelle Houghton, Ciaran Doherty and Gerard Davenport. Raffle winners were Stephen Canning, Michael Doherty, MartinMcGrenaghan, Catherine McGrenaghan,John Doherty, Siobhan McIntyre, Ciaran O’Connor, Lizzie O’Brien, Catherine McDaid, Jason and Jayne Conroy and Michelle Houghton. The scouts would like to thank all who supported the quiz and Bernard and Johnny for the use of their premises.
Ten teams took part in the Gleneely Development Group quiz in Carrick’s last Friday night. Winners were Sugar Lips led by Sharon Curran. Second place were Firefield led by Damien Gallagher and third place was Bolt Like a Colt led by Stephen McLaughlin. Bar questions correctly answered by Sharon Curran and Maire McGowan. Prize winners in raffle Jane Conroy, Helen McLaughlin, Tommy Lafferty, Marie Fildara, JP Lafferty, Gareth McLaughlin, Margaret Lafferty and Jason Conroy. The Development Group would like to thank Paddy and Marie for the use of their premises as well as Martin and Hugh quizmasters and karaoke entertainment.
