He also has a string of awards to his name and regularly receives messages from fans across the world.

Last Sunday, Keelan, who has just released a new single called ‘Who is going to fill their shoes’ was able to add Daniel O’Donnell to this list of fans.

The Donegal singer dedicated the main section of his weekly column in the ‘Sunday World’ newspaper to Keelan, in which he described him as a “teen sensation” and a “talented young singer.”

He told how Keelan was making a ‘big impact’ on the music scene and also credited him with being one of the talented ‘young faces’ attracting the younger generation to the country music scene.

Daniel also spoke about Keelan’s previous awards and the success of his singles.

Keelan said he “couldn’t believe it” when he heard what Daniel had said, particularly as the Crana College student has been a huge fan of his since a young age.

Keelan found out when a neighbour stopped his mother, May, on her way to the shop to tell her he had appeared in the paper.

“I thought it might have been a mistake,” said Keelan.

“But it was brilliant to read it. My manager, Steve Bloor, didn’t even know about it beforehand, so it was a real surprise.”
