Daithi O’Doherty was just 16 months old when he died on March 5th last.

‘A Day for Daithi’ is planned for Sunday, May 15, when FF Fitness members and their friends will take on the might of Mount Errigal in a charity climb to raise awareness of and funds to fight Mitochondrial Disease.

All money raised by the event will go to the Katie Rose Foundation, an organisation established to aid the search for a cure for Mitochondrial Disease and provide support for those families who will, unfortunately, not find one soon enough.

Seamus Fox, of FF Fitness, who’s a friend of Daithi’s family, said: “I’ve known Karen for many years and she and her family were heartbroken at the loss of their beautiful baby boy. When I asked her if there was any way we could help at FF Fitness, she suggested that, maybe, we could raise much-needed funds and awareness of this terrible disease through a ‘Day for Daithi’ in aid of the Katie Rose Foundation.”

“Sponsorship forms are available from FF Fitness in Springtown, Derry, for anyone who wants to take on the ‘Day for Daithi’ Mount Errigal challenge. Even those who don’t wish to take part can simply donate at our Just Giving Page at the following link http://bit.ly/1SmS6Pl”
