This week’s Friday’s Child is Dee Cahill, a local obesity expert, wellness coach and personal trainer. Dee runs Million Dollar Fitness in Spencer Road where she has been christened the ‘Million Dollar Trainer. ‘

How would you describe yourself?

AWESOME – that will most definitely sound like I’m up my own bum but that’s my favourite saying so those who know me will totally get that. I use a 1 - 10 Awesome scale every day

Happiest childhood memory?

Bringing the turf home from Glenveagh – knowing that was it until the following year!!

What was your first job?

My first summer job at 14, washing dishes in a restaurant

Favourite book?

The Magic Hundred by Dax Moy.

Favourite film?

The Blues Brothers.

Favourite television programme?

I don’t watch TV.

Favourite expression?

Let’s do it.

Favourite method of relaxation?

Taking my hearing aids out at the end of the day, the silence and peace is BLISS … it’s my equivalent to kicking off your shoes and sitting back on the sofa with a glass of wine

Favourite holiday destination?

Key West, Florida.

Who would you most like to meet?

I’d love to hang out with a caveman from about 10,000 years back just to get a bird’s eye view of his lifestyle, thoughts, language skills, and social customs. Did he like to party on a Saturday night, did he have cheat nights and if he did what were they? That sort of thing

What makes you angry?

I tend not to get angry. Many things in our modern lives can make us angry: long lines at the supermarket, missing the last bus, traffic jams, difficult-to-open packaging. Sometimes though, it’s worth taking stock and considering something we should be really angry about. Look at the big picture

What makes you happy?

Helping others.

What has been the most embarrassing thing to happen to you?

I helped someone once and they said “thank you” and I said “no problem sir” and it was a lady. OOPS!

What was the worst thing to happen to you in your life?

I lost my hearing in 1999 which was devastating.

What is your greatest fear?

That my number will be up before I get to do everything on my bucket list … its sooooooo long!!

What has been the high point of your life to date?

There are so many – my life’s been one big roller coaster. Most recently I guess getting married in Key West, Florida and opening my own Fitness Academy - MDFA

How would you like to be remembered?

For my positive attitude about life in general and towards those that I’ve encountered during my life. It makes my day when I can inspire and motivate someone to succeed or grow in life.

What is your most treasured possession?

My hearing aids.

If you won the lotto what would you do with it?

Spend it !! – wouldn’t you???

If you could be granted one wish in life, what would you ask for?

Wisdom - No-one seems to listen to the voice of reason any more.

If you could write your own epitaph what would it be?

It took a lot of will power, but I finally gave up dieting Be The Star You Are.
