The resurfacing works extends a distance of approximately 1km from its junction with the Glen Road (at Sperrin View Business Park) to just beyond its junction with the Fallaghloon Road.

The scheme is expected to be completed on week commencing October 17 - subject to favourable weather conditions.

Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard: “This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this busy trunk road and address ongoing maintenance problems associated with the road."

To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses two-way traffic flow will be maintained on the Glenshane Road during this period.

TransportNI say they have carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public.

However they stress that motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
