Derry ChildLine volunteers gather together for major NSPCC conference

Professor Tanya Byron, world renowned clinical psychologist, was the keynote speaker at the recent ‘One NSPCC’ regional volunteer conference at Galgorm Castle.

NSPCC trustee Prof Byron, who is best known for her work on TV shows including Horizon and Child of Our Time, spoke of her work with young people who had experienced abuse and the vital role played by NSPCC volunteers in working to help children get the help they need.

The event, which was attended by over 100 NSPCC volunteers, was opened by NSPCC Trustee and Divisional Trustee, Lady Brenda McLaughlin CBE.

Speakers included Neil Anderson, head of NSPCC Northern Ireland, who outlined how the charity is continually “fighting for every childhood”.
