Derry cyclist killed in Inishowen collision

The cyclist tragically killed in a collision in Inishowen on Saturday morning has been named locally as Adrian Mullan from Amelia Court in Derry.

Mr Mullan, who was in his 40s and a father-of-three, was fatally injured following a collision with a van on the ‘Cnoc Ui Uininn’ road at Moneydarragh, between Gleneely and Redcastle at around 9.15am.

A second cyclist was also injured in the incident. He was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The driver of the van was not injured.

The road at the scene was closed or a period of time to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardai have appealed to anyone who was in the area either before or after the collision to contact Buncrana Garda Station on (00353) 74 93 20540 with any information.
