Derry doing its bit to help brave little Bradley Lowery

Little Bradley Lowery, who is from Sunderland, found out last week that specialist treatment cannot save his life because his illness has worsened. Bradley has neuroblastoma (a rare form of cancer).

Bradley’s parents said it is their son’s dream to receive as many Christmas cards as possible.

Thousands of cards have been sent since the campaign was launched.

It is believed 14,000 Christmas cards were delivered to Bradley’s home in Sunderland in the North East England on Thursday.

The brave little five year-old said ‘thank you’ to everyone who had sent a card or donated money in a video last week.

Several people from Derry were touched by the youngster’s story and decided to send him a Christmas card.

“I sent my card last week - come on Derry let’s send him many more,” said one well wisher.

“It’s impossible not to be affected by little Bradley’s story - I cried when I saw the video where he thanked everyone,” added another.
