Derry gets £1million play park boost

More than £1million is to be spent on seven new play parks in the Derry area.

A public notice in today’s edition of the Derry Journal invites tenders for the projects that are funded by a range of bodies including Derry City Council, Department of Social Development and the National Lottery. The invitations are to tender outline plans to build new play parks at Ardmore, Goshaden, Campsie, Pinewood, Lettershandoney, Learmount and Faughan View. Firms are also invited to tender for a £250,000 contract to build a Multi Use Games Area in the Fountain estate and two outdoor events areas - one at Brooke Park and the other at Ballyarnett Country Park which will cost between £200,000 and £225,000 to complete.
