A Derry family are concerned about the welfare of Ballymagroarty man, Shaun Doherty, after he failed to return home from a holiday in Ibiza.
Twenty-nine year-old, Shaun Doherty, had been holidaying in the Spanish island with friends last week.
Shaun was due to return home with his friends on Wednesday but failed to catch his flight. He was due to catch the next flight home but again, he did not make it.
“We, his family, are so very worried and concerned about him and his safety,” said Shaun’s sister, Stephanie.
“He didn’t make the flight with his friends. I spoke with Dublin Airport and they told me he didn’t get on another flight home and that he’s still in Ibiza. I spoke to about six different people in Ibiza airport, nobody knew anything and can’t confirm where he his. They just kept saying he was not there. I spoke to the police at the airport they have not come across him or know of him. I just kept getting passed on to other people.
“I spoke with the British Consulate in London and they told me to fill out a missing persons report and wait to see what happens, to leave it with the police, but we are very worried as he has no phone and little money.”
Shaun was staying in the Playa D’en Bossa area of Ibiza. Stephanie has asked that anyone who might have seen Shaun since Wednesday, September 30 from 12p.m. to contact her on 07706031914.
