Derry motorists warned to expect delays due to Apprentice Boys parade

Police have warned motorists to expect delays in Derry on Saturday due to an Apprentice Boys parade.

The Mitchelburne Parent Club will be parading from Rossdowney Road to the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall with two bands, the Pride of the Orange and Blue Auld Boys Flute Band and the Sgt Lindsay Mooney Memorial Flute Band from 11am.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Please expect some delays in the city tomorrow (September 17) due to a parade.

Participants will assemble at Rossdowney Gardens at 10.45am and the route will follow along Glendermott Road, Bond Street, May Street, Limavady Road, Clooney Terrace, Spencer Road, Craigavon Bridge, Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street, The Diamond, Bishop Street, Palace Lane and Society Street. Diversions will be in place.”
