Large numbers of people are expected to arrive in Guildhall Square this Sunday in a bid to bring to Derry and Ireland yet another Guinness World Record.
The focus will be folk, of all ages, who take on a challenge to wear their ‘Onesie’ - one piece pyjamas - in public, at a pre-determined location, date and time.
The record is currently held by Ringwood School in Hampshire. However, the Foyle and Inishowen Branch of Chernobyl Children International (CCI) is confident of success, due to the associated fun-element enjoyed by so many school pupils and several high-profile figures, who publicly adorned “Onesies”, in recent times.
A key organiser of the event, Mrs. Siobhán Mc Nally enthusiastically commented: “Our event is a family orientated fun day with entertainment for both adults and children. We are grateful to many helpers such as DJ Tomski who will provide music, a number of circus performers, and others who will make it a memorable day out for participants and public alike. “
Those wishing to register can do so at the Derry City Social Club, Crawford Square, or contact Siobhán on 07588866865. A Registration Desk will also be provided at Guildhall Square on Sunday, to all wearing a “Onesie”.
