A Derry man who is in Simon Cowell’s band ‘Jack Pack’ performed in front of a television audience of millions of people on Tuesday evening.
Martin John McCafferty, (33), joined ‘Jack Pack’ last summer but earlier this week they performed ‘Light My Fire’ by The Doors on popular entertainment show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
“As nerve-racking as it was, stepping out on that stage on Tuesday night with the fellas in front of millions was a turning point and a dream come true. It’s so exciting to think this is just the start,” said Martin.
A former pupil of St. Brigid’s College, Carnhill and St. Columb’s College, Martin went on to say the performance on Tuesday was a good indicator of what is to come when the band release their debut album later this month.
Our performance last night on BGT should give you a good idea of the huge sound we’ve managed to capture on this album, including one or two original swing ballads, each track is massive and punches just as hard as the next. I can’t wait for the people of Derry to hear it.”
As a result of the band’s performance on ‘Britian’s Got Talent’, their management team took the step to bring the release date for the album forward to June 29.
“We have had an incredible reaction since Tuesday night’s performance by the band. So bringing forward the release was the only sensible option,” the spokesperson said.
The Jack Pack album has been described as a modern masterpiece, recorded with a 72-piece orchestra and produced by pop hit makers Future Cut, who have crafted records for the likes of Sir. Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Little Mix and Lily Allen.
