Derry creative agency, Wurkhouse, has opened a new sales office in New York City.
The unveiling of the Times Square base took place during Social Media Week New York.
The expansion to the US east coast follows last month’s announcement of a £1m. investment by the company in Derry.
Wurkhouse currently employs 20 people at its headquarters in Derry’s Northern Ireland Science Park complex. It has plans to double its workforce over the next three years.
Speaking after opening the company’s first oversees base, Managing Director Andy Sheen said it was an important next step for the creative agency.
“We’re delighted to be rolling out the exciting next phase in the evolution of our company,” he said.
“Following the major expansion of Wurkhouse last month, we’ve now taken an important next step.
“Our presence in New York’s famous Times Square will be a key factor in helping us achieve our ambitious plans for growth over the next three years and beyond.
“Having a base in New York will open up a huge market for the tremendous talent and expertise which exists at Wurkhouse.
“We’re relishing the opportunity to showcase our refreshing style of creativity to drive prosperity for our US clients.”
Members of the Wurkhouse management team – including Social Media Director Paul Curran and Troy Armour, CEO of parent company Patral Technology and Media Group - attended high profile events during Social Media Week New York.
