A woman from Derry is believed to have won a quarter of a million pounds on a scratch card.

It’s understood the woman bought the ticket at Myra’s shop on Culmore Road on Saturday night.

Although the identity of the woman has not been revealed staff at the shop say they believe she is a local.

The woman came into the shop on Saturday night and bought two scratch cards.

It’s understood she scratched one card in the shop and left with thew other one.

The woman returned a short time later telling the shop assistant she thought she had won.

And when the assistant checked the ticket it was revealed she had won £250,000.

Yesterday a spokesperson for Camelot said they could neither confirm or deny that £250,000 had been won.
