A Derry woman whose brother was shot dead by a British solider in 1976 will be the key speaker at the Holywell Trust next Wednesday.

Fiona Gallagher was only seven and a half when her brother was killed as he travelled on a bus down the Strand Road past Fort George.

Fiona will speak of her life’s journey towards understanding and healing since that day.

Her testimony is the latest in a series of events that have been hosted this year by the Towards Understanding and Healing team.

Other speakers who have taken part this year have included former British solider Lee Lavin and Kevin Skelton, who lost his wife in the Omagh bomb in 1998

Local people are invited to attend on Wednesday next week (September 30) from 12.30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at HOLYWELL DiverseCity Community Partnership, Bishop Street, Derry.
