Adam McCallion (Izonhow)from Rosemount and Conor Rabbett (Conor7283) from Culmore said they had an amazing time after getting the opportunity to meet some of YouTube’s most senior European figures.
The duo also grabbed the opportunity to meet up face-to-face with other high profile YouTubers from across Ireland.

Conor and Adam, who have thousands of subscribers to their channels, were attending YouTube Creator Day on Saturday to represent Derry on behalf of local YouTubers.

The St Columb’s College students said they had an amazing time at the event, which consisted exclusively of YouTubers with over 1,000 subscribers.

Conor said: “It was awesome, it was fantastic to be there and to meet with everyone. It was great for networking with others and we also learned a lot as well.

“It was so funky inside and everything was free, there was hot food, a big fridge full of drinks.”

Adam added: “There were 93 creators from all over Ireland, and there were people there who taught you about how to optimise your videos and get more viewers.

“I was also the first person to backflip on the Google roof and someone caught it accidentally on Instagram.”

YouTube was set up in 2005 and has revolutionised the communications and filming industry. Now part of Google, YouTube provides a platform for vloggers, artists and companies, groups and individuals to reach a mass audience.
