‘Love the Concept’ are returning to the Derry stage after a near two year absence to bring a brand new show and night of top comedy to the North West.
On Saturday the 9th of April at 8pm, the Playhouse Theatre Derry will play host to the surreal comedy sketches and funny world view of ‘Love the Concept.’ Over the years the group have played alongside the likes of David O’Doherty, Phil Nichol, Kevin McAleer and Jeremy Hardy as well as playing the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2009 in the prestigious Gilded Balloon.
If you’re a fan of Monty Python, League of Gentlemen, Father Ted and a whole host of assorted silliness then this is the comedy night for you. The night comes complete with some of the finest crop of local comedians from Northern Ireland’s exciting new stand up scene. Over some wine and biscuits you can enjoy the local acts such as the brilliant Julie Lecky, fresh from her support slot with Kevin McAleer, and Mason’s comedy club main staple and the peeved man of local comedy Bobby Best.
Main support on the night comes from one of Northern Ireland’s fastest rising comedy stars. The past few years has seen Micky Bartlett star in not one but two TV series for BBC NI as well as become a local comedy legend for his MC duties at Derry’s Masons Comedy Club. The main event of the night will be a love recording of a new comedy sketch album by ‘Love the Concept’ which will be available to everyone in attendance before getting released on itunes. So come along and have a great night of laughs, see some of the best up and coming comics and then be part of recorded comedy history. Tickets are priced at a mere £7.50.
