SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan has praised staff of The Everglades in Derry who reopened the hotel just days after it was badly damaged in a firebomb attack.
Mr Durkan said: “Staff and management at The Everglades deserve every commendation for getting themselves back to business so quickly.
“Along with their construction responders they have improvised well to literally bypass the destruction and damage caused by the wreckers.
“Their positive working spirit demonstrates the brilliance of resilience – and will continue to impress guests in spite of the temporary constraints with which they have to work.
“I heard from managers how proud they are of their staff and how appreciative they all are for the support and cooperation of others.
“Sir William Hastings also shared with me just how impressed he was with the response by the management and staff – and the ready goodwill and urgent purpose from others helping to get The Everglades guest-ready again so quickly.”
