Young people aged between 10 and 25 and living in the Strathfoyle and Maydown areas are being given the chance to try their hands at some challenging outdoor pursuits.
The Enagh Youth Forum are currently asking young people in the area to come forward and register for a number of ongoing activities.
Activities due to take place in the coming weeks include horseriding, orienteering, survival skills, quading and first aid.
The activities are part of the group’s ongoing ‘Positive Pursuits’ programme which was specifically aimed at getting young people involved in more active outdoor lifestyles and away from spending too many hours behind games consoles and computers.
A group spokesperson said: “Enagh Youth Forum was established to help combat the worst effects of social exclusion and rural isolation. In doing so EYF seeks to promote Pride of Place, Social Justice, Pathways to Employment, Health and Well-Being and making honest connections.
“Enagh Youth Forum continues to work positively on the ground in Strathfoyle. We will soon be launching our summer scheme for 2015 which runs from the start of June until the end of August and are encouraging more young people to join the forum as members. So if you live in Strathfoyle or Maydown and are aged 10-25 we want to hear from you!” the spokesperson added.
