A new pumping station will be installed in the Killea area of Derry if the application passes planning consent.
Speaking to the ‘Journal’ after an issue over the particular piece of land was resolved, Sinn Féin councillor Mickey Cooper said he was delighted that an agreement had been reached.
“This is good news for the people for the people of the Killea area. We look forward to progress being made on the Killea connection in near future,” said Colr. Cooper.
The recent development should see an end to a dispute that has been ongoing in the Killea area for quite some time.
Colr. Cooper said he was hopeful that the work on the new pumping station would commence as soon as possible.
“Hopefully this new scheme should see a permanent resolution of the issues in Killea and will also give the residents of the wider area a much improved system.”
