Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed the news that a waste water treatment works upgrade in Killea will be begin this week.
The campaign for the water works upgrade had been initiated by Sinn Fein councillor, Mickey Cooper.
“This is welcome news and follows a long campaign by my party colleague Mickey Cooper who has been liaising with residents and the various agencies for several years now,” said Colr. Logue.
“The upgrade is directly linked to the resolution of sewage issues in Killea as NI Water are proposing to link a new pipeline between the new pumping station at Nixon’s Corner to the Killea developments once Nixon’s Corner is complete. We look forward to progress being made on the Killea connection in near future
“Hopefully this new scheme should see a permanent resolution of the issues in Killea and will also give the residents of the wider area a much improved system.”
