The spell of fine weather experienced in Derry in the last few days looks likely to break come the weekend.
The bright sunshine enjoyed in the last two days saw the temperature in the city reach a fine 17 degrees today. However the Met Office forecast suggests that come Friday rain will takeover and temperatures will dip back down to around 8 degrees. Rain is also expected on Saturday with the temperature unlikely to rise above 9 degrees.
It will remain dry tonight with good clear spells and some mist or fog patches may form overnight in the west accompanied by occasional light winds. Next week looks so far to be no better than this weekend with rain predicted for most of the following seven days.
