Live gigs at the Derry Jazz Festival 2021

On street performances and live-streamed concerts from the Guildhall will return to Derry city centre over the May bank holiday weekend as part of this year’s Jazz festival.

Roaming Jazz acts and festival favourites will be striking up across Waterloo Street, Waterloo Place, Guildhall Square and Ebrington Square on the afternoon of both Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 May.

To celebrate the 20th edition of the City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival, there will also be an on street visual arts exhibition in the city centre, looking back at the history of the festival, with workshops and live gigs from students from Magee and NWRC which can be watched online.

The festival takes from April 30 to May 2 this year and due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year will see a mix of virtual concerts with some on-street entertainment.

An array of local artists who have all played in previous Jazz Festivals showcasing their music online from the Guildhall, with three gigs per day over three stages.​

Among those performing for the live-stream from the Guildhall are: Dougie Breslin Anne Tracey Trio, Joseph Leighton Trio, Jim McDermott & Friends, Superstition, Sensation, Palais Swing Band, Ursula McHugh & Dee Doherty, Andrew Monk, Matt Curran Trio, Barrie, jaywalkers, Anna Nolan Quartet, Mindbenders, King Rat, Stevie & the Gs, Stephen McKeever and Leanne & Dan.
