New signs have been erected at the entrance to the Galliagh estate in Derry following concerns over the state of the existing road signage.
Derry City & Strabane District Sinn Féin Councillor for the Galliagh area Sandra Duffy welcomed the installation of the new signs on the entrance roads into the estate.
Councillor Sandra Duffy said “It’s great to see the new signage going up. The other signs had been in place for a considerable amount of time and had seen better days.
“The Galliagh area sees a lot of traffic travelling through it; therefore it is vital that the area looks clean and tidy and we send out a positive image.”
Colr. Duffy added: “The installation of the new signs will add to other excellent work going on in the area with re imaging projects and community improvement schemes.”
The green metal signs bear the greeting ‘Welcome to Galliagh’ in English and Irish with a Celtic border design.
