Sinn Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has welcomed the new street numbering signs that have been erected at Elm Grove.
Speaking about the new development, Councillor Duffy said:
“I would like to thank Derry City and Strabane District Council for erecting these much needed signs which will aid emergency services attending the area.
“It has been pointed out on many occasions that it is difficult to navigate this large estate as emergency services such as ambulances are unsure where particular numbers are, so these signs could in fact save a life as they will save valuable time off emergency vehicles finding an address.”
Listing their other uses, Colr. Duffy added: “It will also help with deliveries to the area and taxi drivers finding houses late at night.”
