A community festival aimed at overcoming segregation is to be held in Derry’s Waterside next month.
Now in its second year, the Waterside Community Links Festival will be held on July 23 at Clooney Park West.
Waterside Area Partnership, community liaison officer Louise Moore says the festival is open to everyone and is designed to bring communities together.
“The Festival is about making a mark on the Waterside area.
“Last year it was fantastic to see so many people coming together and having a great day full of laughter and fun.
“Some communities didn’t get involved but we are hoping this year that every community will take part.
“If any individuals or group that are not community based want to get involved – the more the merrier.”
She hopes as many individuals and community groups will participate in the event by organising their own stalls for the event – this can be cake, craft, bric-a-brac – “anything that they would enjoy making and running on the day.”
The festival runs from 12-4pm
