Five cases of financial abuse against older people reported
Five cases of suspected financial abuse against older people were referred to the Western Trust's adult protection team last year: all related to incidents in Strabane.
The Health Minister Michelle O’Neill was asked about the problem of financial abuse by West Tyrone MLA Michaela Boyle.
She replied: “For the period April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016 there were five referrals in relation to financial abuse to the Trust’s Adult Protection Gateway Team. All referrals were from the Strabane area.”
