Flough opens for the summer season

It’s that time of year again when the Flough a traditional Irish Cottage outside Muff is opening for the summer season next Wednesday, 13th June - those who have been there before need no introduction, but for anyone who has never been it is a unique experience. The cottage is in its original state with open hearth, settle bed, dresser, spinning wheel, churn, etc. The evening starts with a sit down tea, home made bread, jam, and apple tart, followed by entertainment taking the form of an American Wake, (a Big Night before the son of the house emigrates to America the next day), through song, music, poem, dance, rope twisting, corn fiddle etc. Afterwards it’s audience participation. Booking is essential- for further information ring 9384024.
