Free compost offer in Limavady and Dungiven
Limavady and Dungiven residents have another week to take advantage of an offer of free compost from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
The compost is free to any resident who visits either of the Limavady or Dungiven Household Recycling Centres.
Council say the compost offer is a way of acknowledging residents’ continued participation in the brown bin bio-waste recycling scheme as well as the recycling centre green waste collection. All of the materials collected in brown bins and at the recycling centres are processed into compost.
“Residents brought almost 1,000 tonnes of green garden materials to Limavady and Dungiven Recycling Centres last year,” said a Council spokesperson. “In order to share the available compost as widely as possible, customers will be limited to the equivalent of half of a green garden bag of compost.”
Residents can bring their own bags, or trailer, to collect the material, if they wish. As a further encouragement, green garden bags which usually cost £1 each will be available free of charge to those taking compost, but only until this Saturday.
