The Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre/ Ionad Ealaíon agus Cultúir Ghleann na Ró, Limavady, and Roe Valley Community Film Society present the warm and hilarious contemporary French film Le Concert tonight, Tuesday, 10 April, at 7.30pm.

“The story is that thirty years ago, Andrei Simoniovich Filipov, was a renowned conductor of the Bolshoi Orchestra. Now a mere cleaning man at the Bolshoi, he learns by accident that the Châtelet Theater in Paris is inviting the Bolshoi orchestra to play there,” said a spokesperson.

“He intercepts the invitation and decides to gather together his former musicians to perform in the place of the current Bolshoi orchestra. Now ramshackle and downtrodden, he must lead his group of eccentric musicians to glory, if they can all overcome the hardships ahead.

“Described as uplifting, hilarious and packing an emotional punch by BBC Five, this 2009 film was nominated for a Golden Globe, won multiple Césars in 2010 and various other esteemed awards across Europe.”

Admission to the film is £4 and it is rated certificate 15.
