Fundraising campaign launched to help family of little boy knocked down and killed in Derry

A fundraising campaign has been launched to help the family of little two year-old Ronan McGavigan who was knocked down and killed in Derry on Sunday.

The incident took place at around 1.15p.m. on Lone Moor Road.

Little Ronan was one of six children and lived with his parents Laura and John on Lone Moor Road.

The fundraising campaign was launched online by Tina Givin on Sunday evening.

The amount of money raised has surpassed the target set by more 150 per cent and at the time of publishing this article more than £2,600 had been donated.

“I’m setting up this page in the hope that it will help his family with any expenses that may arise within the coming weeks,” said Tina on the JustGiving.com page.

“Our whole City is shocked and saddened with this news today, and we are all grieving your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. RIP Ronan,” she added.
