The walk is two to three miles long and organisers say it is a walk suitable for all.

Diabetes UK Northern Ireland Regional Fundraiser, Naomi Breen, said: “We have nine Walks for Diabetes organised right across the province and always enjoy a really good turnout, even if the weather isn’t on our side. I would urge anyone in the local area to come along on the day and join in.

“We would be delighted to welcome you and meet with other people who are also living with, or caring for, someone with diabetes.

“Unfortunately, there are over 86,000 people now living with diabetes in Northern Ireland and this number will only continue to rise.

“Diabetes UK Northern Ireland is here to help support the local diabetes family and money raised from walks can help contribute to making a difference to those living with this condition.

The walk itself is a good way to get active and promote awareness about diabetes and how it impacts people living with the condition.Bring the family along, and make a day of it on 28 May at Benone Beach at 2pm.”
