Garda enquiries after alleged '˜approach' to child

Gardai in Inishowen are carrying out enquiries after a child was allegedly '˜approached or spoken to' by a male on Wednesday.

Inishowen Garda Superintendent Eugene McGovern told the ‘Journal’ they received a report that at approximately 3.30pm on Wednesday in the village of Burnfoot, a seven-year-old boy was alleged to have been “approached or spoken to” by a man in what is described as a blue-coloured jeep-type vehicle.

As a result of this report, Gardai are now carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of what occurred. Supt McGovern said if anyone was in the vicinity of Burnfoot around 3.30pm on Wednesday and saw a blue jeep acting suspiciously at around the time the school bus was in the area they should contact Gardai.
