Gardaí praise Derry City fans and reissue Maginn ground rules ahead of Dundalk clash

Gardaí in Buncrana have praised supporters of Derry City FC for their impeccable behaviour during the recent abandoned match against Limerick and asked fans to, once again, follow a few ground rules during the clash with Dundalk on Monday night.

In a message to all Derry City supporters, shared by the PSNI in Foyle, An Garda Síochána, stated: “Gardaí at Buncrana would like to thank all the supporters who attended the recent match against Limerick.

“We look forward to the replay.....played in its entirety this time! The good humoured behaviour of all the supporters who attended the match is a real credit to all and Gardaí are grateful in this regard. In advance of the match on Monday against Dundalk we again wish to remind you of a few points.”

Supporters attending the game are asked to arrive in good time.

Parking restrictions will be in place and Marian Park will be open to ‘residents only’.

Parking areas have been identified on McCarter’s Road with the car park off St. Mary’s Road behind the Buncrana library also suggested as an option.

No alcohol will be allowed inside Maginn Park. This will be enforced by both Derry City stewards and Gardaí.

“PSNI Foyle along with An Garda Síochána would like you, as a representative of our great city to respect all residents around the ground and most importantly enjoy the game,” police said.
