Police are diverting traffic away from a section of the Lone Moor Road in Derry’s cityside because of a gas alert.
Residents in the Jacqueline Way and Nualamont Drive areas reported a strong smell of gas close to the junction of Bligh’s Lane and Lone Moore Road.
The PSNI and Fire Service are at the scene.
It is believed contractors are working on a gas main in the area.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are diverting traffic due to work on a gas main on Lone Moor Road.”
