Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has raised concern that a housing development in the Brandywell area which has been up six years is still waiting on the installation of gates on the gardens of the properties
“Last year I was informed by Habinteg that the gates would be fitted and the only delay was in getting the necessary quotations,” explained Colr. Logue.
“I have now been informed that due to budget constraints there is no short term prospect of securing gates.
“This is clearly unacceptable. It is bad enough that residents, especially those with young children, have had no gates for the last six years. It is unacceptable that the safety of young children is being put at risk through the decision not to erect gates that should have been erected six years ago. I am hopeful that Habinteg, as a social housing provider, will reconsider this decision and I would hope that gates will be erected as a matter of urgency.
