Local people have been urged to get their skates on in time for an upscaled Legenderry On Ice returning to the city this weekend.
The main ice rink arena will be increased in size by 33% compared to last year, making it to 800 square metres.
In addition, 2014 sees the introduction of a new dedicated Kiddie Rink, where younger children can skate together, with the use where required of the popular Bobby the Seal skate aids.
The ice rink will open this Friday at the larger Christmas Village and market at Ebrington.
In response to numerous requests, the ice rink will also have a special seated area in the marquee for children’s’ birthday parties.
Organiser Brian Magee said: “The fact that we have built a bigger rink this year and added the separate rink for younger children reflects the very positive reaction we received from the city last year.
“We are delighted to return and we think people will love the extra space.”
An opening day offer has been organised for Friday, keeping all single prices at £8 for one hours skating.
Legenderry on Ice has also maintained last year’s prices and is also offers group rates and family tickets.
School groups can also be accommodated outside normal opening times by prior arrangement.
Legenderry on Ice is this year supporting its charity partner MS Society, Foyle Branch.

Ebrington meanwhile this year will feature Christmas Markets, a festive funfair and Film Factory as well as the Spiegeltent, all combining to create a special Christmas village atmosphere.
The emphasis, organisers said, will be on providing hours of quality family entertainment and activity in one venue.
