Gleneely crash could have killed

An accident involving a single car on Saturday near Gleneely could have resulted in a fatality, according to one eyewitness.

It happened at around 2pm on the main Carndonagh - Moville road. A number of young men were in the car at the time.

One woman who came across the accident shortly after it occurred said there was three young men at the side of the road covered in blood.

The car had crashed into a telegraph pole on the road, snapping it in two and pulling down another pole. The windscreen came out of the vehicle.


The woman continued; “The way the car was lying against the pole, I don’t know how those men got out of the car. They were covered in blood and the ambulance was on the scene,”

“I saw three people all together. Two were standing up and another who was injured was sitting down. They looked really shook up.”

Gardai were also at the scene.
