The Grove Theatre Group return with their traditional style panto combining a blend of song, dance and humour, featuring a local talented cast of all ages.
The wicked Abanazer is seeking the magic lamp that contains the all-powerful Genie, so he can rule the world, and is just steps away from succeeding when a band of wannabe heroes in the form of local lad, Aladdin, Wishee Washee and of course, Widow Twankey are ready to stop him and save the day!
With a magic carpet, a Chinese Emperor, a couple of hapless genies, and a beautiful princess this is a fantastic tale to entertain those of all ages. Featuring many local stars such as Willie Barrett, Paddy Taylor and Kieran Connor in the roles of Widow Twankey and Wishee and Washee, this show promises to be one of the funniest ever produced by the group. Aladdin is played by the talented Paul Doherty and Gavin McLoone, while Princess Jasmine will be performed by Charlene McDaid and Laura Brown.
Paul Doherty (senior) takes on the role of the evil Abanazer assisted by Hi-Yi, his sneaky assistant, played by James McLaughlin. Other outstanding performances will be given by Shannon Hegarty, Joseph Wells, Damian McDevitt, Tammi Morrin, Leona Anderson, Damian McDevitt, Jenni O’Hagan, Kate Robinson, Thomas McCorkell, Alex Love, Conor Doherty and many more talented performers.
Written by the late Tony O’Donnell and last staged almost ten years ago, the show promises to be a big hit with local audiences. This production is directed by Roderick Canning and Paul Doherty, with choreography by Stephen Carlin and musical direction by Aine McDaid.
Come along and join in this magical story from December 6, to 17 December 17, in The Waterside Theatre. The show starts nightly at 7.30pm, Saturdays at 1pm and 4.30pm and Sundays at 3pm.
