The Western Trust have announced the appointment of an Interim Director of Acute Services.
Geraldine McKay will take up this position to replace Geraldine Hillick who retires at the end of July 2013.
Geraldine is married to Brian and has four children and lives in Magherafelt but is originally from Newtownstewart, Co Tyrone and has worked in the Health Service for over 30 years.
She has worked in a variety of nursing and senior management posts before being appointed as Assistant Director for Surgery and Anaesthetics with the Western Trust in 2011.
Speaking about her appointment Geraldine said: “I am delighted to be taking up this new role within Acute Services Directorate and look forward to the challenge of continuing to provide a high quality service to the people in the Western Trust area.”
The Acute Services Directorate provides acute hospital services to the local population from three sites at Altnagelvin Hospital, South West Acute Hospital and Tyrone County Hospital.
It focuses on focus on delivering efficient health care while improving the quality and safety of services.
Geraldine will be based at the Altnagelvin Hospital Site.
