A family from Derry has presented a cheque for £1,892 to local charity, Children’s Heartbeat Trust.
The Devines raised the money by organising a hugely successful charity night which featured live entertainment and a fantastic raffle.
This fundraising was motivated by their son Ethan, who was born with a serious heart condition and received treatment at Clark Clinic in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
The Devine family says it would like to thank those who helped organise the event and donated prizes, as well as all those who supported on the night.
Sarah Quinlan, Executive Officer with Children’s Heartbeat Trust, said: ‘We are very thankful to the Devine family for raising these essential funds.
“This will help us continue to provide support for parents and families of children with heart disease in Northern Ireland.’
She added: “More than 250 children each year are born with heart disease in Northern Ireland and one third of these children will require further investigation and even surgery.
“This support will make a very real difference to the lives of these families and children.”
Children’s Heartbeat Trust works closely with the Clark Clinic at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children to help fund top quality medical equipment and initiatives, ensuring that children with heart disease in Northern Ireland receive the best care and treatment possible.
