Calling all the ladies!

Ladies, ladies, ladies...where are you all hiding? Foyle Hospice needs you to get out, get active and get signed up for the Female Walk/Run 2012!

There was a glitch this year with the entry form mail out so if you have taken part before but not received your form in the post yet then just come along to the Fundraising Centre or the Hospice Shop in Waterloo to register and collect your pack for Sunday 3rd June!

It is down to just over a week until the Foyle Hospice Female Walk/Run so register now and pick up your pack for the day with extended opening hours at the Foyle Hospice Fundraising Centre. The Fundraising Centre, 61 Culmore Road, T: 02871359888, will be open on;

Saturday 26th May 10am – 3pm, Monday 28th May – Friday 1st June 9am – 8pm and Saturday 2nd June 10am – 3pm.

The Foyle Hospice Shop, Waterloo Place will be open Monday 28th May – Friday 1st June 9am – 5pm and Saturday 2nd June 10am – 5pm.

The all new Foyle Hospice Female Walk/Run is taking place on Sunday 3rd June 2012 at 1.30pm and will start from Templemore Sports Complex with the finish line at Ebrington Square via the Peace Bridge.

This is the 13th annual Female Walk which has grown in popularity year by year. Last year entries to the sponsored walk were just shy of 5000 ladies so this year the big push is on to increase those numbers even more! The new route which will commence at Templemore Sports Complex, travel along the Buncranna Road progressing onto Riverside Walk at Fort George and then crossing the Peace Bridge to finish at Ebrington Square will hopefully be the incentive to all the ladies who have previously taken part to come out once again and for all those who haven’t yet joined the thousands of others supporting the Hospice to make this year their first!

Speaking recently, Noel McMonagle, Community Fundraising Manager, said; “We are aware of the mix up in our mail out this year and are wanting to let everybody know that all they need to do is call into the Fundraising Centre or Hospice Shop to register and collect their pack there and then. Again I would like to highlight the new route and the excitement that adds to our walk/run this year. I would also like to stress the importance of everybody’s sponsorship – we need our local community to know that every £1, £2, £5 or £20 makes such a huge difference. We offer in-patient care, day therapy, home care services and bereavement support. Once again I would like to extend thanks to our key sponsors; Seagate, Q102.9 and the Derry Journal for their much valued support.”

The Female Walk will take place on Sunday 3rd June 2012 at 1:30pm. It is approximately 3 miles. Entry is £7. Entry and sponsorship forms available from Foyle Hospice Fundraising Centre, 61 Culmore Road, 028 71359888 or Foyle Hospice Shop, Waterloo Place (no packs will be supplied through shop).
