Limavady Library is offering residents the chance to get free health checks and information on improving their health from a range of organisations at an invent scheduled for next month.
Billed as ‘Your Health is Your Wealth’ event takes place on October 12, from 11am until 5.30pm a health information event.
“The aim of this event is to promote wellbeing within the community and callers will be able to get information on where to go to for help, advice and support, tips on how to keep well and take time out for yourself and how to achieve a better holistic approach to your health and wellbeing,” said a spokesperson.
“During this event, you will be able to avail of health checks, such as cholesterol and blood pressure checks, pick up some de-stressing techniques and find out more about keeping fit, eating well and getting the right support you may need.”
Information stands from many organisations will be on hand to offer health guidance, coping techniques and ideas to relieve stress, “all of which can help you make immediate changes to improve your health”, said the spokesperson.
There will be a talk by Cancer Focus staff followed by a question and answer session with ‘Roe Valley Friends Indeed’ starting at 2.00pm.
‘Roe Valley Friends Indeed’ will be launching their handbook, a book of information on where to seek help, respite and general information for those diagnosed and family and friends of anyone with cancer.
Admission to this workshop is free and everyone is welcome.
