Public meeting on future of kids’ heart surgery

A public meeting on the future of children’s heart surgery in Northern Ireland will take place in Derry later this month.

The event - hosted by the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) - is part of the ongoing consultation process to consider the future service model for children in Northern Ireland who require heart surgery and other specialist interventional aspects of cardiac care.

In all, five public meetings will be held across Northern Ireland: in Derry, Enniskillen, Ballymena, Belfast and Craigavon.

The Derry event will take place in the ballroom of the Everglades Hotel on Monday, November 26, at 8 p.m.

The consultation process will run until 5 pm on Friday, December 21. The consultation document and response form can be accessed on the Board’s website at
