A joint consultation on the future implementation of Urology Services across the north west has been launched.
The Western and Northern Trusts are now planning to jointly implement a 2009 Urology Review. A new ‘Team North West’ has been proposed. The Trusts said the service model “ensures that patients will access elective and non-elective Urology Services which are sustainable into the future”.
The consultation will run for 12 weeks and will close at 4pm on Friday 29 January 2016, with service users, carers, staff and the public all being asked for their views.
The new model will deliver all urology inpatient surgery at Altnagelvin Area Hospital and day case surgery will be carried out across Altnagelvin, Causeway and Tyrone County Hospitals. Outpatient clinics will be delivered at Altnagelvin, Causeway, Tyrone County and Roe Valley Hospitals.
Information on the implementation of Team North West Urology and how to respond can be downloaded from the Western and Northern Trust websites at www.westerntrust.hscni.net and www.northerntrust.hscni.net by clicking on ‘Involving You’ and ‘Consultations’.
